Common questions

What ingredients should sensitive skin avoid?

Fragrance/parfum, essential oils, alcohol denat, high-concentration AHA/BHA, and benzoyl peroxide on unbroken skin.

Can sensitive skin use retinol?

Yes, with a slow build. Start at 0.2%, use twice weekly, buffer with moisturiser. Move up only after 4-6 weeks without reaction.

What does 'hypoallergenic' actually mean?

In Australia, there's no formal hypoallergenic standard. It means 'fewer known allergens', check the ingredients list for specific triggers.

Correction, 5 October 2026.

An earlier version of this page ranked a Go-To Exceptionoil Eye Cream third. Go-To does not sell a product by that name (its full online range was checked on 5 October 2026), so it has been removed. The two CeraVe products keep their scores and ranks. All corrections.

Correction, 2 October 2026.

An earlier version of this page listed Go-To Zincredible as an SPF50+ sunscreen. Zincredible was an SPF 15 product and Go-To no longer sells it, so it has been removed from this page. Read the details. All corrections.
