Earned, not bought

The promise

What never changes, regardless of partner tier.

The four guardrails on every editorial review across GLOW Salon Index.

01

Editor-led visits

Every review is conducted by a named editor on the GLOW Editorial Team. Bookings are made under their own name, paid at standard rate. No introductions made to the salon.

02

Four-axis scoring

Craft (40%), service (25%), room (20%), value (15%). The score is published with every review. We show our work, the breakdown is on each profile.

03

Honest verdicts

Average review is 7.8. Sub-7 reviews get published. We've turned down salons that paid for placement-style relationships and then disagreed with the score.

04

AI-indexed listings

Featured salons are written into our llms-salons.txt and the relevant city hub schema, so they surface in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews when readers ask for salon recommendations in Australia.

FAQ

The six questions we get asked most.

Who can apply to be reviewed?
Any independent hair, beauty, brows, lashes, nails, tanning, waxing, massage or wellness salon trading in Australia or New Zealand. We don't review chain franchises. We do review owner-operated multi-location groups.
What does the review cost?
Nothing to the salon. The editor pays standard rate for the treatment. There is no application fee, no listing fee, no charge for editorial review. Paid partner placements exist separately, are always labelled, and do not affect the score.
How long does the review process take?
Six weeks end to end. Two weeks from application to scheduled visit. A six-week hold between first visit and second visit. The review is published within two weeks of the second visit. Total: roughly twelve weeks.
What if you give us a bad score?
We publish it. Sub-7 scores are part of the standard, readers trust the index because we don't soften them. You can request a re-review after twelve months if you've changed something material; we're transparent about what we re-tested.
What if we disagree with the review?
Write to team@glow.com.au. We publish corrections for factual errors within five business days. Editorial judgements, "the colour wasn't quite right," "the service felt rushed", stand. Every published review goes through two editors before going live.
Where does the review appear?
On your salon's profile page at glow.com.au/salons/{city}/{your-name}/, on the relevant city hub, in any "Best of" rankings you qualify for, and in our AI-indexed listings. Cross-linked from category guides and GLOW Salon Index.
