The Best Red Light Therapy Panels in Australia (2026)

Red light panels range from AU$400 to over AU$2,000 in Australia, and a lot of that price difference is marketing. The best overall pick is the Infraredi Pro Max 2.0, ARTG-registered, 250 mW/cm² verified irradiance, five wavelengths, AU$1,649.

Update, 4 October 2026.

We have removed the Mito Red MitoPRO 1500+ from this ranking. The brand's website is not accessible through Australian internet providers, so we cannot point Australian buyers to a reliable place to buy it or get support. The panels ranked below it each moved up one place; their scores and assessments are unchanged.

    Infraredi Pro Max 2.0

    GLOW Score9.1/10

The Infraredi Pro Max 2.0 leads this ranking on three grounds: 250 mW/cm² verified irradiance (the highest in this comparison), five clinically-studied wavelengths covering the full red and near-infrared spectrum, and its status as an ARTG-registered medical device. That last point matters for Australian buyers who want a panel that has gone through formal TGA review, not just a wellness product with a disclaimer. At AU$1,649, it is priced identically to the BlockBlueLight PowerPanel MAX but offers higher stated irradiance and the ARTG credential. The trade-off: it covers a half-body area rather than full-body at that price point. If you want full-body from a single Infraredi panel, the Pro Dual at a higher price point is the step up.

    BlockBlueLight PowerPanel MAX

    GLOW Score8.8/10

The PowerPanel MAX from Australian brand BlockBlueLight is a compelling full-body panel at the same price bracket as the Infraredi Pro Max. At AU$1,649.95, you get 240 dual-chip LEDs across a 100 × 21 cm panel, 162 mW/cm² irradiance, five wavelengths, a 5-year warranty (the longest in this guide), and TGA Class IIa medical device status. The lower stated irradiance versus Infraredi (162 vs 250 mW/cm²) is offset by the larger coverage area, more of your body treated per session. Built and serviced in Australia with local support.

    Best Premium Full-body

    Bon Charge Super Max

    GLOW Score8.4/10

Bon Charge is an Australian brand with strong retail and direct presence, and the Super Max is their flagship panel. At AU$1,999, it is the priciest in this comparison, but delivers full-body irradiance of >162 mW/cm² with a clean, premium-looking build. The wavelength range is narrower than some rivals (660 nm red + 850 nm NIR, two wavelengths rather than five), which is a genuine trade-off versus the Infraredi and BlockBlueLight panels. That said, 660/850 nm are the two most researched wavelengths, and most users will not notice the absence of 630/810/830 nm in practice. The brand quality, design, and AU customer support are genuine strengths.

    Best Value Full-body

    Bon Charge Max

    GLOW Score7.9/10

The Bon Charge Max is the mid-tier panel in Bon Charge's range, sitting below the Super Max and above the Demi. At >142 mW/cm² irradiance and 660/850 nm wavelengths, it offers the core Bon Charge panel experience at a lower entry price than the Super Max. If you want the Bon Charge brand but not the Super Max price, this is the starting point. The two-wavelength range (vs five on Infraredi/BlockBlueLight) is the same caveat as for the Super Max.

    GLOW Score7.7/10

The PowerPanel PRO is BlockBlueLight's mid-tier, 48 × 30 cm, 150 LEDs, >160 mW/cm² irradiance, five wavelengths, and the same 5-year warranty as the MAX. It is smaller than the MAX but covers more area than targeted panels, making it practical for upper or lower body treatment. At a lower price point than the MAX, it offers strong value for people who don't need full-body coverage in a single session.

Our 2026 picks

Best for every use case.

Six categories. One honest pick for each.

How we ranked

The rubric, published, not hidden.

Rankings are determined by this criteria before any commercial relationship is considered. No brand paid for a position.

Irradiance at distance

Measured at a realistic use distance (15-30 cm), not at 0 cm. Solar meter readings, where available, for comparison; spectrometer readings for dosing.

Wavelength range

Both red (630-660 nm) and NIR (810-850 nm) required. Five-wavelength panels score higher than dual-wavelength at equivalent price.

AU certification

ARTG registration and SAA/TGA classification are positive signals for Australian buyers. Brand claims are noted; independent verification is flagged.

Coverage area

Panel dimensions against stated price. Price-per-cm² of coverage matters, a larger panel at the same price beats a smaller one if specs are equivalent.

EMF and flicker

Low-EMF and flicker-free designs are preferred. Verified where possible; brand-stated where not.

Warranty and service

Longer warranties from Australian-based brands score higher. US-only service brands are penalised for AU buyers on this axis.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

How much irradiance do I need from a red light therapy panel?

Most research protocols use 20-200 mW/cm² at the treatment surface. At a realistic home-use distance of 15-30 cm, panels in this guide deliver 40-100+ mW/cm². Higher irradiance means shorter session times for an equivalent dose. The key is the combination of irradiance AND duration, a lower-power panel used for longer can achieve similar dosing. A panel that can't clear 30 mW/cm² at any practical distance is unlikely to be effective.

What wavelengths should a red light therapy panel have?

The most studied wavelengths are 660 nm (red, skin and superficial tissue) and 850 nm (near-infrared, deeper tissue). Many panels also include 630 nm, 810 nm, and 830 nm for broader coverage. At minimum, look for both a red (630-660 nm) and near-infrared (810-850 nm) wavelength.

Do red light therapy panels need TGA approval in Australia?

Devices sold as wellness products do not require ARTG registration unless they make therapeutic claims or are classified as medical devices. The Infraredi Pro Max is ARTG-registered. The BlockBlueLight PowerPanel MAX is described as TGA-approved Class IIa. Check the TGA's ARTG search tool independently if this matters to your purchase decision.

Panel or LED face mask, which should I buy?

For hands-free facial skin maintenance only, a quality LED mask (Omnilux, CurrentBody) is compelling. Panels are better if you want full-body coverage, higher irradiance for deeper tissue, recovery or wellness use cases, or treatment beyond the face. See our full comparison: LED Panel vs LED Face Mask.

How long per session?

Typical sessions are 10-20 minutes per body area at 15-30 cm. Higher irradiance panels allow shorter sessions. Most people use panels 3-5 times per week. Starting at 5 minutes and building up is sensible, overuse can cause skin sensitivity in some people.

Is red light therapy safe?

Red and near-infrared light in the wavelengths used by these devices (630-850 nm) is considered low-risk for most healthy adults at the power levels involved. Eye protection is recommended, avoid looking directly at the LEDs and wear the goggles provided with the panel. People with photosensitive conditions or taking photosensitising medications should consult a doctor before use.
